Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

At Trademark Recruiting/Consulting, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of our cloud and network environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Architecture: Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud architectures, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and routing.
  • Firewall Management: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls, including policy creation, threat management, and VPN setup.
  • VPN Configuration: Implement and maintain site-to-site and client VPNs to provide secure remote access and connectivity.
  • System Administration: Administer and support Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL) and Windows servers, including patch management, performance tuning, and security hardening.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible to automate deployments and manage cloud resources.
  • Performance & Security: Monitor and optimize cloud performance using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools; enforce network and data security best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, development, and operations teams to integrate cloud solutions into CI/CD pipelines and application deployments.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide expert troubleshooting and support for complex cloud, network, and system issues, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, network configurations, and system processes.
  • Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers and other team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering with a strong focus on network architecture, firewall management, and system administration.
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional preferred; Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) preferred.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.), Palo Alto firewalls, VPN configurations, Linux administration (Ubuntu, RHEL), and Windows administration.
  • Tools: Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Programming: Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and familiarity with YAML/JSON.
  • Monitoring: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch and Splunk.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to address complex network, cloud, and system issues effectively.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and presenting technical information clearly.
  • Availability: Candidate expected to be in on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role within a technical team.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices related to cloud and network security. Palo Alto experience is a plus.
