Job Summary

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Financial Payroll Analyst to join our team at Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll and related processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Assist in the completion of all employee timesheets on a weekly basis, produce the company's bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees, and onboard new employees, assigning labor allocation, and performing employee maintenance in Oracle.
  • Payroll Compliance: Prepare various deduction filings and reports, verify, investigate, and correct discrepancies in payroll tax reporting and payments, 401K withholding contributions, W-2 forms, etc.
  • Research and Analysis: Research state and federal payroll laws, test Oracle break/fix, upgrades, and enhancements, and prepare various state and federal census reports.
  • Employee Support: Answer employee questions related to timecards and pay slips, and assist in Annual Compliance review of benefit plans.
  • Union and Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA): Prepare information for union requests and negotiation of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), and update Oracle as needed for changes to company policies including, but not limited to, absence plans and benefits.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or combination of education and employment experience.
  • Experience: Entry-level experience in accounting, payroll, or related field.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, experience with Microsoft Excel and Word, and ability to document policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Practical Business Experience: Practical business experience, experience using Oracle financial software, experience using Microsoft Access, experience in mid-size employee organization with geographically dispersed offices, continuing accounting learning efforts, and experience applying applicable financial and accounting laws and regulations.
