Preventive Cardiologist Position

Job Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks a BC/BE cardiologist to join a dynamic academic program. The successful candidate will have opportunities to create a unique clinical practice, engage in teaching, and participate in clinical research at a world-class university.
UW Madison offers outstanding clinical facilities and laboratories, providing a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, structural heart disease procedures, and investigational device research.
The position will entail a presence at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics locations in Madison and at our partner community-based hospital, Unity Point Health - Meriter.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care at UW Health locations, including inpatient cardiovascular medicine service and night call, outpatient cardiovascular services, diagnostic cardiovascular testing, and providing clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in clinical research activities and academic service.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have skills and prior experience in preventive cardiology, be BC/BE in cardiology, have training in nuclear cardiology or echocardiography, and a strong clinical background in preventive cardiology and clinical cardiology.
The candidate must also demonstrate excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly achievement.

Additional Information:
The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.
The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
