Position Overview: We are looking for a Groundwater Monitoring Team Lead to oversee the N3B Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract (LLCC). This role involves managing daily operations and ensuring that all tasks are executed safely, securely, and in accordance with regulatory standards.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Direct the daily execution of a large-scale groundwater monitoring project, including waste and purge water management as well as equipment upkeep.
  • Organize staffing and activities to ensure timely work assignments and set priorities for team members.
  • Assess and confirm task completion through the evaluation of finished work assignments.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations at the project site; initiate corrective measures as necessary.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding planned activities and coordinate support to prevent negative impacts on project timelines, scope, or budgets.
  • Manage staff schedules to guarantee operational coverage.
  • Process procurement requests for necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term budgeting and planning strategies.
  • Address issues related to the effective execution of operations.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards among staff.
  • Collaborate with T2S personnel and management, coordinating with N3B Operations staff on fieldwork logistics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to execute critical strategic tasks and formulate plans to meet broad organizational objectives.
  • Capacity to significantly influence organizational effectiveness and productivity, exercising considerable independent judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in training and mentoring junior staff members.
  • Recognized expertise in a specialized field with extensive knowledge across the broader discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative project environment.
  • Familiarity with the LANL site and its operational requirements is preferred.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening in accordance with federal regulations, along with a physical examination if required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, along with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A combination of education and applicable experience demonstrating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
  • The career level for this position will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to communicate effectively, with noise levels typically ranging from quiet to moderate.
  • Physical demands include the ability to exert up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and a negligible amount of force consistently to move objects.
  • Carrying up to 35 pounds while hiking may be necessary.
  • Frequent requirements to stand, walk, sit, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasional requirements to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision.
