Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Controls Specialist to join our team at United Global Technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Project Controls System, performing cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, and supervising cost engineering and/or planning/scheduling activities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of twelve years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. They will be skilled in oral and written communication, proficient in using personal computer operating systems, and knowledgeable in financial report systems and controller account codes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the EVMS and Project Controls System
  • Performing cost estimating, analysis, and control activities
  • Supervising cost engineering and/or planning/scheduling activities
  • Preparing and reviewing or supervising the preparation and presentation of cost engineering and planning activities
  • Supporting project organizational and administrative activities

The successful candidate will be viewed as an expert in the field within the Laboratory and will have broad expertise or unique knowledge, using skills to contribute to the development of objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.

They will work on unusually significant, unique, or complex issues, providing solutions that are highly creative and where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.

Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel is also required.

The position requires experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, and cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.

Subject matter expertise and proven experience with project controls and/or project management, project budgets, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, project scheduling, implementation of corrective actions, developing and delivering detailed and accurate status reports, and subject matter expertise and proven experience with engineering functions and principles required to understand and successfully implement and monitor technical projects.

Expert level knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes is also required.
