Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team at ProMedica Health System. As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures, maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently perform ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced environment, adhering to established protocols and ensuring high-quality technical results.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of diagnostic ultrasound systems and perform all technical procedures with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment, reporting any malfunctions and maintaining quality control and calibration records.
  • Utilize computerized Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) to manage patient data and images.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, educating patients about their procedures and ensuring their comfort and needs are met in a dignified and confidential manner.
  • Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Participate in training and education of new sonographers, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining high standards of patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Sonographer by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and maintain active registry status.
  • CPR certification and ability to take call within 30 minutes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, coping with stressful situations and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Working Conditions

The Diagnostic Sonographer will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with regular exposure to ultrasound equipment and patient data. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds, move about the hospital, and work in a variety of settings, including patient rooms and procedure areas.
