Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at ProMedica Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently perform ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced environment, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain proficiency in the utilization of diagnostic ultrasound systems and perform all technical procedures with the highest level of quality.
  • Ensure the highest possible technical quality of ultrasound images and maintain quality control and calibration of ultrasound systems.
  • Utilize computerized Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and education, ensuring patients and their families are comfortable and informed throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate with physicians to perform ultrasound-guided procedures and maintain a sterile environment.
  • Assist with training and education of new sonographers and students.
  • Ensure patient care and staff work areas are clean, orderly, and appropriately stocked.
Requirements
  • Must have attended an approved school of diagnostic ultrasound or have equivalent experience accepted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Must be registered as a diagnostic sonographer by the ARDMS and maintain active registry status.
  • Must have CPR certification and be able to take call within 30 minutes.
  • Must be able to move about the hospital and between workstations, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping.
Working Conditions

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
