About the Role

FusionSite is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in overseeing financial reporting, treasury operations, and state and local tax compliance for assigned regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including preparation of schedules, journal entries, and other supporting documentation.
  • Work directly with regional management and staff to prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Assist in the implementation, training, and update of financial systems, including Sage Intacct and QuickBooks.
  • Set up and monitor treasury and banking related activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance of assigned regions, providing comprehensive financial updates to home office and regional management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis against budget and other metrics, providing actionable data to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all state and local tax filings are prepared accurately, filed timely, and associated taxes are paid timely.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and proforma data for newly acquired businesses, including travel and on-site training for acquired company staff.
  • Responsible for monitoring, compliance, and documentation of internal controls to maximize protection of company assets.
  • Assist with creating and updating financial policies and procedures, ensuring effective communication to impacted teams.
  • Assist with the annual audit, providing supporting documentation and schedules to auditors, answering questions, and assisting with preparing financial statements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including treasury and banking management.
  • Public accounting experience with big 4 experience is a plus.
  • Active CPA license is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience working in Sage Intacct and/or QuickBooks, with expert user skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, while working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
