Job Overview

We are currently in search of a proficient Estimator and/or Design Engineer to enhance our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside the design team to create comprehensive and effective roadway designs, ensuring adherence to local regulations, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Assist in formulating project plans, feasibility analyses, and cost assessments for roadway infrastructure initiatives.
  • Select suitable materials and draft engineering specifications for road construction and maintenance endeavors.
  • Develop alignment and geometric designs for roads, intersections, and other transportation facilities, prioritizing safety and accessibility for all users.
  • Secure necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities for roadway projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance during construction, including reviewing plans, addressing design challenges, and monitoring project advancement.
  • Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks to guarantee adherence to design standards and specifications.
  • Incorporate environmental considerations into roadway design, taking into account factors such as stormwater management and environmental impact assessments.
  • Assist in tracking project progress, budgets, and timelines.

  • Assist in managing and leading projects.
  • Develop comprehensive sets of structural drawings and technical specifications independently.
  • Mentor and guide Engineers-In-Training (EITs) in structural engineering.
  • Perform structural design calculations, plan production activities, and prepare project document submissions while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project.
  • Lead and support construction phase efforts on building projects in structural engineering.
  • Engage in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members.
  • Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients.
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Required - A Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical degree would be suitable; training will be provided.
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) License - Preferred; will consider an EIT.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup, with some ability to produce drawings and details as needed.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT, and other structural-related design tools.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering principles.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex engineering challenges and devise effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach to work, effectively contributing as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to staying informed on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in roadway engineering.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-discipline to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to foster a positive work environment.
