Overview:
As a vital member of Trinity Health, the Clinical Laboratory Specialist is responsible for executing precise analyses of blood, fluids, and tissue samples. This role is crucial in delivering accurate diagnostic information to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducts thorough chemical analyses of body fluids, including blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices, to identify normal and abnormal components.
2. Performs blood cell analysis by counting and identifying cells through advanced microscopic techniques.
3. Ensures the optimal functioning of laboratory analyzers and equipment by calibrating, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining an inventory of laboratory tools.
4. Evaluates new laboratory equipment and techniques to enhance operational efficiency.
Position Hours:
Per Diem
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology. Certification as MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP is required, or candidates must be eligible to take the certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment. Applicants must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S.
