We are seeking a dedicated kitchen sanitation specialist.
As a kitchen sanitation specialist at Pizzeria Verit, you play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our bustling kitchen environment. Your responsibilities will include operating the dishwashing equipment, ensuring that all plates and utensils are spotless for our patrons, and keeping the kitchen tools and machinery in pristine condition for your culinary colleagues. Additionally, you will assist with food preparation tasks to help streamline the kitchen's workflow.
You should be reliable, punctual, and industrious, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to performing your duties to the highest standards. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, as you will need to juggle various tasks while fostering a friendly and productive atmosphere within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively support the restaurant by transporting dirty dishes to the dishwashing area and returning clean items to the food prep zones.
- Regularly check the cleanliness of dishes, bowls, and utensils post-wash to ensure they meet our quality standards.
- Inspect and sanitize food preparation areas, including equipment and surfaces, to uphold safe food-handling practices.
- Monitor the freshness of food items by checking quality, labeling, and dating stored products, while rotating stock effectively.
- Assist in food preparation according to recipes and instructions from the Chef.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the kitchen.
- Prior experience in a dishwashing role is preferred.
- ServeSafe or Food Handlers certification is required (or must be willing to obtain).
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
- Capability to stand for extended periods, typically 6+ hours.
