Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitation Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our customers and employees.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the breakroom and all restrooms, ensuring a hygienic environment for all employees.
  • Sweep and damp mop all floors daily, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness.
  • Respond promptly to spills and clean up any messes throughout your shift.
  • Empty all trash inside and outside the store, maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
  • Rotate and clean the dairy shelves, ensuring our products are displayed in a clean and appealing manner.
  • Clean the glass dairy and frozen food doors, maintaining a sparkling and hygienic appearance.
  • Sweep the parking lot using designated equipment, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for customers.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and fixtures as needed, ensuring our facilities are well-maintained.
  • Shovel and salt sidewalks as needed, maintaining a safe and accessible environment for customers.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, upholding our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain company standards and programs for safety, fire prevention, and security, ensuring a secure environment for all employees and customers.
  • Maintain productivity levels at or above company standards, meeting our expectations for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Treat all coworkers with fairness, dignity, and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Maintain good communication with the management team and associates, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
  • Communicate any needed repairs and/or maintenance work to the management team, ensuring our facilities are well-maintained.
  • Maintain a quality of performance of all specific duties and responsibilities assigned, upholding our high standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements.
  • Flexible schedule needed, with the ability to work varying shifts and hours.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand/walk 100% of the time, with frequent reaching and lifting of cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting, with the ability to handle a variety of cleaning materials and substances.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. approximately 50% of the time, with the ability to push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.
Preferred Requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the internal and external store and property, ensuring a safe and accessible environment for customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and conditions of the equipment used in the performance of this job function, ensuring a well-maintained and efficient work environment.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
