Location Overview:
Manor Vail Lodge stands as one of Vail's original and iconic establishments.
Featuring studio, one, two, and three-bedroom condominiums, as well as luxury penthouses, Manor Vail Lodge is a full-service condominium property that offers all the amenities of a full-service hotel, including two outdoor heated swimming pools, four hot tubs, a spa, fitness center, The Fitz Bar, and the new restaurant, Ridge + River.
Situated just steps from Vail Village, Golden Peak ski area, Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, and the Ford Amphitheater, Manor Vail Lodge provides a comprehensive lodging experience in Vail.
Position Summary:
The Guest Services Trainee is responsible for accommodating guests and owners of the resort by managing check-ins and check-outs, assisting with concierge tasks, settling accounts, and addressing room-related challenges.
The Trainee will check in and out guests/owners, balance accounts, serve as a Concierge, and gain exposure to reservations and housekeeping responsibilities.
- Position anticipated to be filled by late summer for a late fall start.
- Compensation is $17/hour with shared housing or $20/hour without housing.
- Benefits include retirement options with a company match, Colorado sick leave, vacation pay after a specified period, and parking.
- Availability required for various shifts throughout the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome, register, and assign accommodations to guests.
- Issue room keys and provide guests with directions and an overview of property amenities.
- Respond to inquiries regarding hotel services, guest registration, and local shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
- Maintain records of room availability and guest accounts.
- Calculate bills, collect payments, and provide change to guests.
- Post charges for room, food, beverages, or telephone to the ledger.
- Safeguard guests' valuables in hotel safes or safety deposit boxes.
- Complete assigned shift checklists.
- Opportunities to gain experience in Reservations and Housekeeping.
- Eligible for discounted merchant passes or end-of-season bonuses.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Reasoning Skills:
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this role successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, as well as Spring Miller Rooms Management System database software.
Certificates and Licenses:
A valid driver's license is beneficial.

Compensation Range:
The compensation for this position ranges from $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
