Senior Tax Compliance Analyst for Federal and State

This role is integral to the U.S. Tax Principal, focusing on various facets of federal, state, and local tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance Management: Facilitate the preparation of federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns along with estimated payments. This includes the reconciliation of federal calculations, state apportionment data, tax credits, and attributes, covering all aspects of income tax, property tax, and sales and use tax compliance.
- Tax Provision Preparation: Collaborate with global tax team members to ensure accurate and timely preparation of ASC 740 income tax calculations for U.S. income taxes, including a thorough review of current and deferred income taxes and effective tax rate inputs.
- Accruals Management: Support the preparation of federal accruals, state property tax, franchise tax, and sales & use tax accruals. This involves analyzing tax accounts and preparing journal entries to maintain accurate balances, along with preparing account reconciliations.
- Tax Planning Strategies: Assist in the implementation of strategies aimed at minimizing the cash and earnings impact of tax expenses. Work closely with the Tax team to ensure alignment on the tax implications of operations and business structuring, while identifying key risks associated with tax operations for compliance and financial reporting.
- Audit Support: Aid in tax audits by preparing information requests for tax authorities and coordinating with global tax team members for federal and state income tax, property tax, and sales and use tax audits. Compile summaries of audit status and contribute to developing audit defense strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Master's degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or MBA preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience (or 3 years with a master's degree) in industry and/or public accounting, with a strong technical understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local taxation.
- Experience with US GAAP ASC 740 is required, and familiarity with SEC regulations is preferred.
