Job Summary

The Senior Business Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting departmental objectives by completing complex business system and data analytic assignments. This position will function as a senior analytic and technical lead on a broad array of assignments, collaborating with internal business and external vendor constituents to conduct analytic assignments in support of requested business solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal business and external vendor constituents to conduct analytic assignments in support of requested business solutions.
  • Create a technology roadmap in support of a business strategy with business leadership across multiple departments.
  • Ensure that appropriate requirements, associated business rules and data standards, and technical specifications for requested solutions are documented.
  • Develop design recommendations commensurate with requested solutions, ensuring recommendations comply with corporate architectural standards and federal and state regulations and/or mandates pertaining to the privacy and security of the company's core data assets.
  • Facilitate review of design with governing committees.
  • Plan, develop, and implement solution designs of significant scope and complexity.
  • Lead teams of junior analysts to fulfill components of solutions with significant scope and complexity.
  • Lead quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing planning for developed solutions, and participate with business requesters in their user acceptance testing once QA testing is successfully completed.
  • Develop and train IT and business personnel on test strategies, plans, and scripts and execute test procedures to ensure compliance of developed solution with documented specifications.
  • Report test results to project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate to maintain core reference domain content via master data management tools. Monitor core dataset quality thresholds to identify dataset content issues that require resolution.
  • Initiate and manage constituent-specific data remediation projects to resolve prioritized issues.
  • Monitor production processes of previously implemented information management solutions to proactively achieve error-free performance standards.
  • Perform analysis to establish root cause(s) of identified issues through implementation and documentation of necessary modifications.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a health care data warehouse environment. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in MicroStrategy report development, understanding of its architecture and schema objects, and experience with documenting requirements, use cases, test cases, and success criteria.

The candidate should also have experience in Master Data Management, database systems (Teradata, Oracle), and end-user analytic tools like MicroStrategy. Superior analytic problem-solving skills, including business process and data analytics, are essential for this role. Data knowledge in finance or clinical side of insurance business, and demonstrated ability to develop and deliver data analytic solutions of a complex nature, are also required.
