About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Architectural Designer to join our Buildings team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing building projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site measurements and document existing building conditions.
  • Participate in the preparation of schematic design drawings, including modeling and coordination with engineering teams.
  • Assist in design development, ensuring compliance with local zoning codes and regulations.
  • Prepare construction documents, including specifications and materials lists.
  • Verify design aspects comply with local building codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, and engineering teams to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Assist in the creation of drawing sets, prints, and reviews for errors and quality assurance.
  • Support revision bulletins from the field and coordinate with consultants on engineering designs.
  • Assist in selecting materials and finishes and coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Participate in project budgeting and assist in preparing and issuing bidding documents.
  • Attend construction meetings and site visits to document progress and review contractor payment requisitions.
  • Maintain logs of submittals and shop drawings in project files.
  • Respond to requests for information throughout the construction phase.
  • Assist in developing project proposals and client presentations.
  • Assist in completing LEED documentation as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
  • 2+ years of experience in design, with a focus on building projects.
  • Intermediate skills in REVIT, with proficiency in Enscape, Bluebeam Revu, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to mentor new designers and summer interns.
  • Ability to research code provisions, products, and materials information.
  • Ability to coordinate information exchange between clients, project managers, and project teams.
