Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ramp Operations Supervisor to join our team at Swissport International AG. As a key member of our airport operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management and direction of ramp activities to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Manage Staff: Lead and motivate a team of ramp staff to deliver excellent customer service and ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
  • Maintain Safety and Performance Standards: Ensure that all ramp activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, and that all staff are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and Build Customer Relationships: Foster strong relationships with customers and airport authorities to ensure that their needs are met and that they receive the highest level of service.
  • Report and Investigate Irregularities: Identify and report any irregularities or safety concerns, and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Participate in Meetings and Briefings: Attend and contribute to internal and customer meetings, and conduct daily shift briefings to ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities and any changes to procedures.
  • Conduct Safety Meetings and Briefings: Lead safety meetings and briefings to ensure that all staff are aware of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Liaise with OCC: Communicate with the Operations Control Centre (OCC) regarding daily workforce requirements and any other relevant information.
  • Perform Audits: Conduct daily and weekly audits to ensure that all ramp activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Build and Maintain Good Management/Workforce Relations: Foster positive relationships with staff and management to ensure a productive and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure Compliance with Company Policies and Procedures: Ensure that all staff are aware of and comply with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum One Year Experience: A minimum of one year experience in ramp service or a related field is required.
  • Teamwork and Communication Skills: The ability to work in a team environment and possess strong verbal and written communication skills is essential.
  • Knowledge of Ground Service Equipment: Knowledge of the operation of ground service equipment is required.
  • Organizational and Multi-Tasking Skills: Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are necessary to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Valid Unrestricted Provincial Driver's License: A valid unrestricted provincial driver's license is required.
  • Transport Security Clearance: Transport security clearance is required.
  • Flexible Work Schedule: A flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
