Overview:

The Patient Services Representative embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medical Group, adhering to the organization's ethical standards and compliance protocols. This role is essential in ensuring that all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate various customer service operations that support patient care units and external laboratory clients.
  • Manage courier dispatch and entry of reference laboratory orders.
  • Handle results entry, billing applications, and referred test services.
  • Oversee specimen receipt, quality assurance, processing, and distribution.
  • Provide exceptional phone customer service and reception duties.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into client inquiries and issues.
  • Reconcile interface discrepancies between internal systems and external laboratories.
  • Monitor outstanding laboratory results and ensure timely entry into the electronic lab system.

Position Details:

This is a part-time role, requiring 48 hours per pay period during evening shifts, typically from 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., including alternating weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma, with typing skills of at least 35 words per minute. A minimum of one year of experience in customer service, laboratory clerical work, or registration within a healthcare setting is required. Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
