Production Coordinator

Overview:

Garan, Incorporated is on the lookout for a meticulous and highly organized Production Coordinator to enhance our vibrant team. The successful candidate will oversee the management of purchase orders, fabric procurement and monitoring, consumption analysis, and garment distribution. This position demands exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with our manufacturing partners in Central America to guarantee timely and cost-effective production.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Order Management:

  • Generate, process, and monitor purchase orders for raw materials and finished products.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with fabric suppliers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order specifics and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain precise records of all purchase orders, deliveries, and discrepancies.
  • Address any issues related to purchase orders promptly.

Fabric Procurement and Oversight:

  • Assess fabric needs based on production schedules and forecasts.
  • Place fabric orders with suppliers, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Track fabric delivery timelines and manage inventory levels to prevent production interruptions.

Consumption Analysis:

  • Monitor fabric and material usage to promote efficient consumption and reduce waste.
  • Keep detailed records of fabric consumption for each production cycle.
  • Analyze consumption data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide management with reports on consumption metrics.

Garment Distribution:

  • Distribute garments to various production lines based on production priorities and capacity.
  • Assign specific fabrics to designated product types according to production requirements.
  • Resolve any issues related to fabric assignments and make necessary adjustments.
  • Oversee the progress of allocated garments throughout the production process.
  • Address any challenges that arise during garment distribution and production.
  • Communicate fabric distribution plans and requirements to relevant departments to facilitate production scheduling.

Collaboration with Central American Manufacturing Partners:

  • Act as the primary liaison for our Central American manufacturing contacts.
  • Communicate production schedules, requirements, and any changes to the manufacturing partners.
  • Ensure timely delivery to customers by regularly coordinating with the Logistics Team.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of manufacturing partner performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Textile Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in production coordination, supply chain management, or a related role within the apparel sector.
  • Strong understanding of purchase order management, fabric procurement, and inventory oversight.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating with Central American manufacturing facilities.
  • Knowledge of textile and garment production processes.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
