Director of Total Rewards Job Description

CAN Community Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Total Rewards to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive compensation and total rewards strategies that align with our organization's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement compensation and total rewards strategies that are externally competitive, equitable, and compliant with regulations.
  2. Oversee the analysis and benchmarking of compensation and total rewards data to maintain competitiveness and compliance with regulations.
  3. Direct and oversee the organization's annual compensation and benefit processes, including open enrollment, annual performance evaluations, merit and incentive awards, and market review.
  4. Ensure that rewards support talent attraction, retention, and performance.
  5. Determine short and long-term strategies to manage escalating year-over-year compensation and benefit costs.
  6. Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy for compensation and benefit programs.
  7. Advises HR partners, senior management, and leadership on compensation-related issues and Total Rewards trends.
  8. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and departmental leaders to create and revise job descriptions, ensuring they accurately reflect roles, responsibilities, and qualifications for proper compensation alignment.
  9. Partners with outside benefit brokers in benefit design, healthcare options, and negotiation of contracts.
  10. Direct the preparation and distribution of detailed compensation and total rewards reports and presentations for executive leadership and the board of directors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including 5 years in a management role.
  • Experience in compensation planning, research, policy development, and program design, including health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and base and incentive pay.

  • Sedentary- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly in lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Travel:

Travel is primary during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel is expected.
