As a Director of Support Services, you will be responsible for participating in the budget process, recommending and implementing quality improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with Federal/State regulatory agencies, rules and regulations. You will also be responsible for managing communication and tasks between Security, Mail room, Emergency Management, and other departments within the hospital.
Responsibilities- Oversee the overall operations and management of Engineering/Maintenance, Security, Mail room, Emergency Management, and Safety Officer functions
- Participate in the budget process and recommend and implement quality improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with Federal/State regulatory agencies, rules and regulations
- Manage communication and tasks between Security, Mail room, Emergency Management, and other departments within the hospital
- Participate in off-site government functions related to Emergency and Security management
- Implement programs and procedures related to Emergency and Security management
- Manage Joint Commission compliance efforts within the Environment of Care
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Participate in the hiring, termination, and progressive discipline of applicants and employees
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in directing/managing multiple departments with extensive experience in the Engineering/Maintenance field
- Ability to evaluate facility problems and perform necessary repairs
- Broad knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical repairs and systems, utilities, grounds care, and total building systems associated with the health care industry
- Knowledge of all fire protection codes and all accrediting agencies, JCAHO, AHCA, State & Local
- Knowledge of Security departments and overall procedural functions
- Knowledge of Emergency Management and overall procedural functions
- Broad knowledge of safety and at least 7 years of serving as a Safety Officer in a healthcare setting
