OSP Designer

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an OSP Designer to join our Utility Design Engineering team in Nashville. As a key member of our team, you will work on the planning, designing, documenting, and permitting of proposed new outside plant backbone, middle mile, and FTTx and BAU build-outs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of applicable building codes and design codes, as well as experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, or similar software packages. You will be responsible for reviewing jurisdiction documentation, determining design parameters within Right-Of-Way, and designing/drafting permit drawings with minimal guidance.

• Assist with fielding tasks, including engineering design notetaking and pole data collection.
• Review jurisdiction documentation and determine design parameters within Right-Of-Way.
• Design/draft permit drawings with minimal guidance.
• Prepare specialty drawings, including utility company submittals and railroad crossings.
• Design Fiber-Optic networks using ArcGIS software or client-designated software.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or related engineering degree.
• Prior experience in linear utility engineering and design, and fiber-optic/coaxial OSP design.
• EIT license preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, or similar software packages.
• Knowledge of local city, county, and state and utility permitting regulations.
