Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician - Production Machinery to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive and repair maintenance work on production machinery to ensure the continuous production of high-quality film while maintaining all safety work standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and repair maintenance work on production machinery to ensure continuous production of high-quality film.
  • Ensure all production equipment is in a safe working condition.
  • Work safely using required PPE and follow all work instructions, safety rules, and policies.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve continuous improvement in areas including safety, quality, and production.
  • Work as an "on-call" technician in a rotation and be available to work overtime with little or no notice.
  • Assist in breakdowns and repairs, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical applications as needed.
  • Install equipment and any utilities needed for equipment, including conduit bending and wire pulling.
  • Work on projects assigned by the Plant Maintenance Manager.
  • Take initiative to start tasks without being told and follow all inventory control guidelines and inventory management procedures.
  • Train fellow team members.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of electricity and electrical troubleshooting, including single and three-phase applications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and NEC guidelines in compliance with NFPA 70.
  • Working knowledge of all plant production equipment.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot using electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC programming protocols, including software for ControlLogix 5000, SLC 500, and PLC 5 programmable controllers.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motor systems, including VFD control and troubleshooting.
  • Above-average knowledge of mechanical systems, including gearbox maintenance, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and motor/gearbox/pulley alignment standards.
  • Practical and working knowledge of all utility systems, including chilled water, compressed air, nitrogen generation, and electrical supply switchgears.
Education and Experience
  • Industrial Maintenance Certificate or Technical School degree.
  • Minimum 5 years proven job experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Proficient in computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Working Conditions

The duties are performed in an area where it can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The noise level is high, and work is performed around machinery that can be up to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Working conditions are sometimes smoky and dirty due to work around extrusion dies and extrusion equipment. The employee must use extreme caution and follow proper procedures when working in or near electrical cabinets.
