Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Safety: Ensure the safety of pets, clients, and associates by utilizing safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols, and maintaining clean, sterile, and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Client Communication: Obtain relevant information and history from clients, and maintain proper and complete medical records.
  • Patient Education: Educate clients about pet health needs, any diagnosis or treatment, hospital services, and other related information.
  • Team Collaboration: Effective communication of diagnosis and treatment plan to the veterinary medical team and client.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand and follow state guidelines regarding duties of veterinary assistants and licensed veterinary technicians.
Requirements
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task.
  • Organizational Skills: Organizational ability - demonstrates a systematic approach in carrying out assignments.
  • Surgical Skills: Surgical skills - proven ability to perform basic surgeries, including use of all standard medical instruments and equipment.
  • Client Service: Client service skills - consistently ensures the team provides the client with attentive, courteous, and informative service.
  • Compassionate Care: Compassionate commitment to pet care - ensures hospital teams confidently present pet treatment recommendations and associated fees as an advocate for the pet, gaining the client's agreement to proceed with the treatment most appropriate to the pet's current condition and long-term health.
  • Pain Management: We understand that a comfortable, pain-free patient is a happier patient.
  • Low-Stress Environment: We believe in low-stress and fear-free animal hospital visits.
  • Licensure: License in good standing in the state of NC - or ability to become licensed in NC.
