About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensing Librarian to join our team at Dahlgren Memorial Library. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for managing electronic resource licensing, renewals, and acquisitions. Your expertise will be essential in supporting the research, education, and patient care missions of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Negotiate and review licensing agreements for electronic resources and services, ensuring alignment with library and university policies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate identification of users and alignment of access and authentication with licensing terms.
  • Steer resource license agreements through the university contracting and procurement process, performing budget reconciliation and ensuring accurate recording of access dates and entitlement data.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure defined entitlements, access, and usage rights for purchased and subscribed content.
  • Support responses to license breaches and manage open access support, including APC funding requests and tracking OA support.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • MLS or MLIS degree from an accredited institution
  • 2+ years of relevant library experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to work well with diverse members of an academic medical center community
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience with library licensing and open access agreements
  • Familiarity with current trends in open access and procurement processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of constituents and focus on customer service
