One Degree Agriculture is a leading provider of agronomy solutions to farmers in the region. We are seeking a results-driven Agronomy Sales Specialist to join our team.
About the Role:
The Agronomy Sales Specialist will be responsible for driving sales and promoting agronomy solutions to farmers in the assigned region. This role will work closely with the Agronomy Manager to ensure products and services meet the needs of customers while supporting sustainable farming practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a sales program and strategies to optimize crop production and efficiency
- Identify and target potential clientele including regional farmer customers and potential channel partners
- Billy build and maintain strong relationships with customers by taking a consultative approach to sales by providing sound agronomic advice and solutions tailored to their specific needs
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in agronomy, and incorporate new knowledge and technologies into our business practices
- Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and meetings
- Establish a presence in the region by conducting on-farm sales calls to build relationships, provide product demonstrations, and troubleshoot/assist with any technical concerns
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in agronomy management or a related field
- Experience in seed and/or biological sales is highly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of crop production, soil fertility, pest management, and plant nutrition
- 5+ Year sales track record of increasing sales and territory growth
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to analyze and interpret agronomic data
- Experience with agricultural research and field trials
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using agronomy software and technology
- Willingness to travel frequently and work in various field conditions
