About the Position

We are seeking an Agroecosystem Manager to join our team at Landus Cooperative. In this role, you will work with farmers, landowners, and ag retail professionals to develop and implement conservation programs that improve soil health, water quality, and biodiversity.

You will be responsible for providing technical assistance, conducting on-farm research, and building relationships with key stakeholders. As an Agroecosystem Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on sustainable agriculture practices in Iowa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical specialist providing expertise on agronomy and conservation practices to farmers, landowners, and ag retail professionals.
  • Develop and implement conservation programs that address resource concerns, farmer goals, and watershed project objectives.
  • Conduct on-farm research, including data collection and management information.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of agronomic and conservation practices.
  • Build relationships with financial institutions and secure necessary funding for practice implementation.
  • Collaborate with watershed coordinators and ag retail staff to develop and coordinate projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 2-4 years of experience in conservation agronomy or related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the agriculture industry and ability to articulate vision, strategy, and proposals.
  • Strong understanding of agricultural industry, cropping systems, conservation delivery systems, and promotion of conservation practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve project deliverables.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data storage software.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
