Position Overview

The Learning Center for the Deaf Inc is seeking a dedicated American Sign Language (ASL) Educator to provide comprehensive ASL instruction and support for students from Pre-K through Grade 12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging ASL lessons across various grade levels and age groups.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and enhance ASL curriculum and assessment tools.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with educators and support staff to integrate ASL concepts into classroom instruction and tailor ASL goals to meet individual student needs.
  • Create ASL-based video resources to facilitate ongoing professional development for staff.
  • Compile and present quarterly and annual reports related to ASL instruction and student performance.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Deaf Education or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Fluency in ASL is essential; candidates who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience teaching ASL to both Deaf L1 students and L2 learners is highly valued.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within an educational team.
  • Prior experience working with students is preferred.
  • Willingness to accept and utilize feedback constructively.
