Role Summary:
As a Production Control Manager, your primary responsibility will be to supervise daily manufacturing activities, ensuring compliance with departmental SEQCD (Safety, Environment, Quality, Cost, Delivery) objectives. You will be tasked with managing documentation, troubleshooting issues, enforcing standards, and promoting ongoing enhancements in our production methodologies.
Key Duties:
- Monitoring and Documentation:
- Regularly assess and document 4M (Man, Machine, Material, Method) conditions and trends to achieve departmental SEQCD targets.
- Maintain necessary OSHA and ISO documentation.
- Evaluate production reports for precision.
- Create safety, productivity, and quality reports, and formulate improvement strategies for upper management review.
- Issue Resolution:
- Address HR, production, EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety), and product quality challenges.
- Engage in problem investigations (root cause analysis) and resolutions (corrective actions) by facilitating collaboration across departments to eliminate recurring issues.
- Propose, implement, and uphold methods and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing operations.
- SOP Management:
- Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are established, up-to-date, and effectively communicated.
- Train operators on SOPs for each role to ensure they possess a thorough understanding and the necessary skills to fulfill their responsibilities and meet SEQCD targets.
- Enforce compliance with policies, standards, and operational rules.
- Production Goals and 5S:
- Recommend and implement production goals, targets, and adjustments for processes, work assignments, and equipment to meet SEQCD objectives.
- Plan, execute, and review 5S and autonomous preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Conduct regular SDCA (Standardize, Do, Check, Act)/PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycles to ensure desired outcomes are achieved.
- New Product and Process Implementation:
- Oversee the testing and implementation of new products, processes, and equipment.
- Monitor processes and ensure accurate data collection.
- Kaizen and Employee Engagement:
- Coordinate and validate Kaizen initiatives within the department.
- Encourage employee participation in company-sponsored programs and mandatory training.
- Guide team members in identifying, recommending, and implementing corporate systems and programs such as Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and 5S within the work unit.
Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Exceptional conversational, reading, and writing abilities in both Japanese and English are essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing setting, including knowledge of SEQCD targets and compliance.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Experience in managing SOPs, training, and enforcing policies.
- Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
