Job Description

Ryder is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and other scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine, transmission, and electrical system problems.
  • Conduct road tests to identify cause of complaints and ensure quality of repair work performed.
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates.
  • Coordinate work schedule as required by customers and ensure timely completion of tasks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter and self-sufficient approach.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
