Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Technician to join our team in Carlisle, PA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex issues, and ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and inspections
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with diesel engines, including advanced skilled level repairs
  • Ensure the reliability and safety of our fleet by identifying and addressing potential issues
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates
  • Coordinate work schedules and prioritize tasks to meet customer needs
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Non-commercial driver's license (Class E) preferred
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) (Class A) preferred
  • Other state driver's license as required
  • Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with preventive maintenance (PM) and vehicle repairs
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, including routine maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to operate in a fast-paced environment
