About the Role:
Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Certified Medical Instrumentation Specialist for a job in Waco, Texas.

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $53,000 to $63,000 depending on experience and qualifications. The role is part of our healthcare team that provides quality patient care services.

Job Summary:
This role involves performing various duties associated with cleaning, sterilization, processing, organizing and distributing patient equipment, instruments, supplies and products used in the care and treatment of patients. Some of the key responsibilities include preparing rooms and organizing instruments, equipment, treatment trays and supplies; cleaning and decontaminating instruments, containers and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectant solutions under regulatory and hospital policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers, receiving, stocking, rotating, checking and pulling expired goods; filling and distributing internal orders; and picking up reusable trays, equipment items and instruments. Additionally, the candidate will maintain and control inventory, maintain applicable records and files and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of equipment and instrument sterilization methods and procedures preferred; basic medical terminology; and relational skills to interact with patients and staff. Ability to comply with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices is essential. Relational and communications skills are also required.
