Job Title: Fatherhood Peer Specialist

At Zepf, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Fatherhood Peer Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting fathers in our program and ensuring that all necessary information is collected and shared with our data manager.

Job Summary:

The Fatherhood Peer Specialist will provide support to fathers in our program, focusing on engaging them and connecting them with essential services and resources. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with contacting fathers and ensuring their engagement in the program.
  • Refer, link, and coordinate fathers to services and referrals in the community, recovery, and social support sectors.
  • Educate fathers on self-management and promote the importance of social supports and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Empower fathers and promote personal independence.
  • Complete required paperwork in accordance with agency, regulatory body, and payor standards.
  • Collaborate with team members in a mentoring capacity, including coordinating and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Visit fathers' employment sites to identify and overcome barriers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A positive history of working with fathers between the ages of 18 and 35.

  • Is knowledgeable about community resources and social support services.
  • Can communicate effectively orally and in writing with staff, providers, and consumers.
  • Can function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Abides by the agency's and/or professional code of ethics.
Travel and Hours:

This role requires travel and is available for 20 hours per week.
