Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreational therapy programs for residents with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
  • Schedule and lead group activities that meet the physical, spiritual, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of residents.
  • Evaluate activity effectiveness and resident responses in meeting individualized goals.
  • Create and distribute neighborhood activity calendars to residents, families, and staff.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional.
  • 2 years of experience in a full-time, therapeutic program within the last 5 years.
  • Qualification as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or OT assistant.
  • Completion of a State-approved training course.
