Job DescriptionRole Overview

At Parkland Health and Hospital System, we are committed to providing high-quality patient care and transportation services. As a Patient Transportation Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients within our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispatch patient transporters to ensure timely response to transportation requests
  • Coordinate with patient transport leadership to provide day-to-day job assistance, teaching, and coaching
  • Maintain daily workflow to ensure lunches are taken in a timely manner
  • Provide child passenger safety education and complete car seat education checklists for all moms and babies
  • Ensure that customer departments are notified of delays, cancellations, and changes in the mode of transportation
  • Work with supervisor to solve specific problems either on a one-to-one basis or in groups
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 years of experience as a patient transporter preferably in a healthcare environment
  • Current CPR-Heart Saver course completion card within 90 days of hire
  • National Child Passenger Safety Certification within 1 year of hire
Working Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a dynamic environment.
