Position OverviewThis role is designed to establish local service capabilities in the designated region, primarily focusing on serving clients in the metal and pulp & paper sectors, with a significant emphasis on the crane market, including ports and shipyards. The position will also involve support for start-up installations and upcoming projects.
This is a home-based role requiring considerable travel across the West Coast and occasionally to other regions in the United States, with travel commitments reaching up to 60% of the time.
Key Responsibilities- Commission new systems independently or as part of a larger team on significant projects.
- Collaborate closely with system engineers to ensure project testing and functionality.
- Provide urgent field service to clients in the event of equipment or process failures.
- Offer support via phone, email, and other communication methods to customer engineering and maintenance teams.
- Adapt new equipment to function seamlessly with the client's machinery, recognizing that each machine has unique characteristics.
- Analyze challenges and propose alternative solutions, selecting the most effective approach.
- Evaluate and determine solutions, whether working collaboratively or independently.
- Adhere to company service processes and guidelines.
- Promote additional value-added services, spare parts, and upgrades during customer visits or when opportunities arise.
- This position involves travel, often on short notice, for emergency repairs, which may last from a single day to several days.
- Travel commitments can reach up to 60%, with occasional international travel.
- Work locations may require climbing ladders and navigating tight spaces, including heights of up to 300 feet.
- Physical demands include walking long distances, climbing stairs, and carrying service equipment weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment as necessary.
- Be prepared for extended hours in the field, particularly during start-ups and emergency repairs.
- Maintain a clean driving record for travel to client locations.
- A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology is preferred; an Associate's Degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial controls.
- Experience with AC or DC drives is essential.
- Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs is required.
- Strong technical skills in electrical fundamentals and computer systems.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual with a robust work ethic.

- Excellent communication abilities.
