Operations Team Leader

Overview:
The Operations Team Leader is tasked with overseeing a group of pipeline technicians and operational staff within the energy sector. This role is pivotal in supporting operational, technical, and maintenance functions while also facilitating project management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
With minimal oversight, executes necessary tasks to ensure the smooth operation of all activities at a natural gas compressor station, including managing reciprocating and electrical horsepower, and other related systems and equipment. Ensures optimal flows, temperatures, pressures, and levels while identifying operational discrepancies and implementing corrective measures.Capable of operating the compressor station utilizing a PLC control system.Identifies equipment irregularities and collaborates with maintenance teams for significant repairs.Responsible for documenting parameter values, completing operational reports, notifying about environmental deviations, and managing equipment lockout/tag-out procedures for maintenance and repairs.Performs additional duties as required.Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills.Possesses considerable mechanical aptitude.Ability to interpret and apply information from operational and equipment manuals.Physical capabilities include standing, walking, bending, climbing, stretching, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.Monitors daily operations to enhance efficiency.Plans and organizes work schedules for team members.Procures materials necessary for operational activities.Oversees operating expenses and implements cost control measures.Develops and maintains capital and operational budgets.Trains and enhances the skills of both new and existing team members.Prepares regular operational reports.Creates and enforces operational procedures.Participates in safety meetings and actively leads safety initiatives.Adheres to company policies regarding regulatory compliance.Engages in company-sponsored training programs.Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.Exhibits the ability to delegate tasks effectively.Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.A minimum of 8 years of general experience in the oil and gas sector.At least 8 years of operational experience in the oil and gas industry.Experience with reciprocating compressors.Familiarity with transportation pipeline operations.Knowledge of DOT regulations.Basic computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Available to assist colleagues as needed.Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.Work Environment:
