The Licensed Optician is a key member of our team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that every customer leaves our store with a perfect pair of glasses.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide personalized service to customers, ensuring that their needs are met and exceeded.
- Fitting glasses and lenses to customers, ensuring a precise and accurate fit.
- Act as a leader in optical acumen, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
- Take and record measurements, adjust or fit eyewear correctly, and ensure that finished eyewear meets standards and customer requirements.
- Attract new customers and explore their needs and priorities.
- Be attentive to details, ask follow-up questions for clarity, and review prescriptions and identify special needs.
- Assist colleagues with difficult or complex areas of product needs and prescriptions.
- Utilize store tools and adhere to Brand Store Commitments.
- Perform work accurately and thoroughly, utilizing all technology despite time pressure and customer volume.
- Anticipate problems, explore underlying reasons for customer issues, and strive to develop long-term solutions to problems and ensure customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded.
- Possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
- Commit to delivery date and time, seek feedback, and ask for referrals.
- Strive to achieve exceptional results on Brand KPIs and competencies.
- Presents, celebrates, and educates at pick-up.
- Takes pride in store appearance, shows initiative to keep store clean, attractive, and organized.
- Informs management of safety opportunities and demonstrates safe work practices.
- Possesses a 'can-do' spirit and strong drive for results, self-motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures, including but not limited to discounting, promotions, and inventory management.
- Sells on your feet 80-100% of the time.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed (i.e., customer calls, dispensing eyewear, etc.).
- Maintains proper dress code, including name tag and associate tablet.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- State Licensure.
- Optical dispensing experience.
- Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
- Knowledge of current store merchandise.
- Basic math skills.
- Awareness of current fashion trends.
- Selling skills - ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
- Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
