About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Systems Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our spacecraft development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating avionics systems for our space vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop avionics systems, including hardware and software components
  • Integrate avionics systems with other spacecraft systems, including propulsion, power, and communication systems
  • Test and validate avionics systems to ensure they meet performance and safety requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to ensure seamless integration of avionics systems
  • Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience working with electronics or electrical/electromechanical systems, including hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas: prototyping, design, integration, and/or test
  • Experience with avionics standards and guidelines, such as DO-178 and DO-254
  • Strong understanding of digital, analog, and mixed-signal parts and their use
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Aptitude for hands-on problem solving, with a passion for spacecraft systems
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with PCB design tools, such as Cadence, Altium, or Mentor Graphics
  • Soldering, PCB rework, crimping, harness/connector assembly
  • Test equipment, test rack design, configuration management, data acquisition
