POSITION SUMMARY:

The Base Area Services Division offers an engaging opportunity to become part of the dynamic ski industry with PowderMonarch LLC. As a Base Area Services Team Lead, you will support the Base Services Supervisor in managing team members and overseeing the daily operations of the Base Services department, which includes maintaining the parking areas, ensuring the base area is tidy and accessible, and delivering exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exhibit effective leadership in alignment with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and values, fulfilling the mission to deliver a personalized mountain experience to our guests.
  • Ensure all documentation, tracking, and verifications are completed accurately and promptly, including requests, training, payroll, and fiscal responsibilities.
  • Assist in recruiting and hiring top-tier employees for the department.
  • Help schedule staff to ensure optimal coverage based on anticipated skier traffic and weather conditions, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of initial and ongoing training for departmental staff, and support the manager in overseeing daily and seasonal operations.
  • Monitor budgetary constraints and provide input for future budget proposals.
  • Drive guest and employee shuttles as needed, offering information and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Support the execution of special events.
  • Lead parking lot operations, including providing breaks for staff, setting up and dismantling parking areas, and assisting with vehicle-related issues.
  • Prepare the base area for daily activities, ensuring safety by removing snow and ice from access points and addressing potential hazards.
  • Operate machinery such as Bobcats for snow removal in various areas including parking lots and lodges.
  • Provide timely feedback to employees and contribute to performance evaluations for team members.
  • Step in to perform Base Services staff duties when required.
  • Contribute to departmental capital requests.
  • Collaborate with other departments as part of the PowderMonarch team.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining training materials, manuals, and checklists essential for departmental success.
  • Prepare for emergencies by overseeing department personnel as directed by your supervisor.
  • Deliver professional solutions and courteous assistance in resolving issues for both guests and staff.
  • Monitor and maintain the inventory and condition of departmental supplies and facilities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Age: 21
  • Must be a legal citizen of the United States or possess appropriate work authorization.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is necessary; a college degree is preferred.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level.
  • At least one year of experience in Base Area Services is required.
  • Some supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must be capable of sudden movements, adapting to varied terrain, and transporting up to 90 lbs on skis or snowboard.
  • Experience driving vehicles, including passenger vans and snowmobiles, is necessary.
  • Physical ability to push/lift up to 90 lbs, such as shoveling snow, on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to stretch, bend, and work at heights up to 20 feet.
  • Willingness to work at high elevations (up to 12,000 feet) and endure adverse weather conditions.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Seasonal, Full Time

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Compensation: Starting pay is $22.00 per hour, adjusted based on experience.
