Position Overview:
This role entails overseeing the daily activities of service providers to guarantee high-quality service, enhance performance, and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards.
The supervisor fosters participation in sales leads by nurturing mutually beneficial relationships with customers; addresses customer inquiries; identifies business development opportunities; and cultivates a customer-centric work environment.
The individual must possess DOT certification and have prior experience as a UPS package car driver to effectively manage and enhance operational performance with service providers and other hourly staff as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:Leads and collaborates with on-road personnel to optimize efficiency and ensure that packages are delivered safely, promptly, and professionally. This includes utilizing performance metrics and quality improvement processes to monitor achievements against objectives, facilitating the execution of daily dispatch plans, and conducting on-road supervision and audits.
Maintains operational excellence by devising and implementing effective work process strategies, diagnosing service inefficiencies, reviewing workflows and schedules, and overseeing budget compliance.
Utilizes a comprehensive understanding of policies and procedures to navigate operational challenges in a business context.
Contributes to the formulation and execution of work process strategies to enhance center efficiency and achieve business outcomes.
Ensures the establishment and upkeep of a thorough health and safety program.
Conducts audits for risk management and safety compliance.
Applies knowledge of the company's structure and operations to resolve issues, make informed decisions, and fulfill business objectives.
Maintains employee safety training and certifications.
Employs workforce planning expertise to assess labor markets and develop strategies for attracting talent.
Identifies employee training requirements to create ongoing development plans.
Provides constructive feedback and support.
Conducts performance assessments and addresses individual and group performance challenges.
Encourages a collaborative work atmosphere through continuous communication and relationship building.
Utilizes legal, regulatory, and safety compliance knowledge to mitigate company risks.
Evaluates, identifies, measures, and monitors customer or business needs and trends.
Mentors and develops team members using career development tools and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree (or an equivalent international qualification).
Basic Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
Must be currently residing in the same geographic area as the job or be willing to relocate.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have prior experience driving a UPS package car.
Ability to lift 70 lbs (32 kgs).
Ability to work flexible shifts, up to 5 days a week.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Must possess DOT certification and be willing to undergo a physical examination, including a driving assessment.
A bachelor's degree (or an equivalent international qualification) is required, or current employment with UPS for a minimum of three years.
Compensation reflects labor costs across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $101,400 to $148,752 annually, influenced by factors such as market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, training, and work experience.
New hires may qualify for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs based on their position level.
Participation in these annual programs is not guaranteed and depends on multiple factors, including individual performance, business unit performance, and overall company performance.
This position is eligible for performance-based bonuses.
New hires may also be eligible for a range of benefits, including medical/prescription drug coverage, dental and vision benefits, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability income protection, employee assistance programs, educational assistance, 401(k) retirement plans, vacation, paid holidays, personal time, and sick/family medical leave as mandated by law, along with a discounted employee stock purchase program.
