The Merced County Office of Education is a leading provider of educational services to the community, offering support and oversight to 20 school districts in Merced County.

Our organization is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education.

We strive to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships and provide fiscal oversight to each school district in Merced County.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the assigned supervisor, the Parent Resources Specialist provides logistical and administrative support to a resource center program.

The program consists of a series of training and self-discovery exercises for preparing parents who may be at risk or have at-risk children.

The Parent Resources Specialist develops and maintains participant and subject matter information, provides administrative assistance to the Director and program leaders, and ensures the smooth operation of the resource center.

Education and Experience

This position requires a High School diploma or recognized equivalent and two years of experience working with family-oriented services in an educational, municipal, or community environment.

Must be knowledgeable of the needs of families in crisis/trauma.

An Associate's degree with an emphasis on child development, social services, or administrative support may substitute for experience.

Licenses and Certificates

Requires a valid California driver's license.

If using personal vehicle in the course of employment, must have proof of liability insurance required by law.

DMV H-6 printout.
