Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Experimental Smart Farm Academic Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of innovative agricultural practices and technologies at the University of California, Merced.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supporting research activities at the Experimental Smart Farm, including:

* Coordinating field activities for research and other academic projects
* Developing and implementing processes and protocols for efficient and safe research activities
* Tracking and monitoring all active research projects within the ESF portfolio
* Overseeing maintenance, repair, and upgrading of research equipment
* Providing training and support to researchers on the use of AES equipment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* A Master's degree in an appropriate field such as agricultural engineering, agricultural business, production systems, crop management, plant science, industrial technology, or a related field
* Strong organizational and communication skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
* Experience in program design, implementation, and management, preferably in an agricultural context
* Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering research programs, particularly in the agricultural section

Preferred Qualifications

It would be beneficial to have experience in research management and familiarity with the latest agricultural technologies and tools. Additionally, proficiency in one or more relevant languages in addition to English, such as Spanish, would be an asset.
