Job Summary

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) delivers high-quality medical care to a diverse patient population. This role requires the ability to examine and treat patients independently, collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed. The APRN ensures proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Responsibilities include prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic tests, and advising patients on continuing care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform and document comprehensive physical examinations and health histories.
  2. Function independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical examinations for patients.
  3. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient age-specific needs.
  4. Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  5. Implement interventions to support patients in regaining or maintaining physiologic stability.
  6. Assist with providing care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
  7. Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
  8. Facilitate patient transitions within and between healthcare settings.
  9. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  10. Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.
  11. Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • A valid State of Florida APRN License.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
