About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Advocate to join our team at Ruby's Place. As a Peer Advocate, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to our clients, who have experienced domestic violence, human trafficking, or are at risk of such abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and active listening to residents
  • Monitor the facility during shifts and perform basic maintenance and cleaning tasks
  • Assist with data entry, filing, and other clerical duties
  • Provide confidential, holistic, client-centered, trauma-informed services
  • Orient new residents to the facility and provide back-up shift coverage as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care to clients
  • Relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with clients with special needs
  • Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route
  • Background check, fingerprinting, and completion of all Community Care Licensing requirement documents
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent in Spanish (speak and write)
  • Experience in child welfare and/or case management, crisis intervention, peer counseling
  • Experience working with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence
  • Experience working with the immigrant community
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $29.87 and a comprehensive benefits package, including immediate vesting in our 403(b) with a generous match. This is a part-time, 16 hours per week, hourly position. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
