Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Care/Medication Technician to join our team at TerraBella Salisbury. As a key member of our care team, you will provide hands-on care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Responsibilities- Provide care and support to a designated group of residents, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Observe, report, and document changes in resident condition, including skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary, and participation in activities.
- Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells.
- Notify supervisor and/or Health Care Coordinator of increased care needs.
- Assist with continence management and dispose of continence products properly.
- Serve and collect food trays, reporting meal refusals or loss of appetite.
- Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
- Practice good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene, and health.
- Help residents maintain independence, promote dignity, and physical safety.
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, and eating.
- Engage residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities.
- Greet and assist internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors, and team members.
- Perform resident laundry as assigned and needed.
- Review service plan to learn pertinent information about residents.
- Assist/observe medications and treatments for each resident using the medication observation record and the Six Rights of Medication Pass.
- Document and initial form as medications are given, including documentation for refusal or missed doses.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information, including resident medication.
- Report all resident concerns made while assisting resident with medication to the Nurse and/or Health Care Coordinator.
- Restock medication cart after all medication passes.
- Assist in checking medication regardless of packaging system.
- Count all narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
- Maintain and clean the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, availability of medications, and expired medications.
- Follow re-fill process for medications.
- Participate in the development of the Service Plan and monthly updates.
- Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, sharp sticks, and hazardous chemicals immediately.
- Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
- High School diploma/GED.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- First Aid Certification preferred.
- Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
