Overview:

The HR Operations Specialist will oversee the daily activities of the Human Resources department, which includes addressing employee questions, conducting interviews, managing benefits and leave, and upholding company policies and procedures.

This position also involves addressing grievances and conducting related investigations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to employment-related inquiries from staff and management, escalating complex or sensitive issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Administer benefits and manage leave in accordance with local and federal employment regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, regularly reviewing policies and practices for compliance.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives such as outings, blood drives, and charity campaigns in collaboration with the HR team.
  • Maintain and update employee records and personnel files, providing timely and accurate HR reporting as needed.
  • Oversee the onboarding process and new hire documentation.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives within the HR function.
  • Contribute to the company's Affirmative Action Plans and ensure compliance with EEOC and OFCCP standards.
  • Stay informed about trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in human resources and employment law.
  • Monitor and document compliance with mandatory HR training requirements.
  • Manage the employee recognition program to celebrate tenure and achievements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a human resources generalist role is preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
  • Experience with multi-state HR laws is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily in a standard office setting, with occasional visits to project sites and operational areas as needed. The position may require the ability to lift 25-35 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
