Job Overview

We're seeking a skilled Dog Groomer to provide top-notch services at our pet lodge. The ideal candidate will have excellent grooming skills and a passion for animal care.

Salary:$40,000-$50,000 per year

About the Role

As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and styling dogs to meet their owners' preferences. You'll also need to assess each dog's coat, skin condition, and behavior to recommend the best grooming approach and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality grooming services for a variety of dog breeds
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming needs and preferences
  • Ensure a safe and stress-free experience for pets during grooming sessions
  • Clean and maintain grooming tools, equipment, and workspace to uphold hygiene and safety standards
  • Monitor the health of pets during grooming sessions and report any concerns to pet owners and management
  • Keep accurate records of grooming services and client preferences
  • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 1 year of professional dog grooming experience
  • Certification from a recognized grooming school or relevant experience
  • Familiarity with various dog breeds and their grooming needs
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior and ability to handle dogs calmly and gently
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and reliability
Preferred Skills

While not required, having these skills will make you an even stronger candidate:

  • CPR and First Aid certification for pets
  • Knowledge of grooming safety procedures and allergy considerations
  • Proficient computer skills to work with online client portals
