Advanced Veterinary Care Opportunities
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Nephrology/Urology team at Friendship Hospital for Animals. As a key member of our medical team, you will provide high-quality care to pets with complex medical conditions, working alongside board-certified internists and advanced medical technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and imaging, to aid in accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Monitor and care for patients pre- and post-procedure, providing emotional support and reassurance to both patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about their pets' conditions, treatments, and care plans, ensuring transparency and trust.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment, promoting a safe and efficient workflow.
- Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families, embodying the values of Friendship Hospital for Animals.
Requirements:
- Veterinary Technician certification/credentialing (CVT, LVT, RVT, VTS) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting, preferably in internal medicine.
- Hemodialysis experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals and their owners.
- Proficiency with veterinary software and technology.
