Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a defined group. Reporting to the Charge Nurse and Clinical Nurse Manager, this role requires excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and tact to create a favorable image within the supported department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients according to the facility's philosophy of patient care and standards of professional nursing practice.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines of the unit to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and maintain a current Rhode Island license.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
  • Meet annual safety training requirements per facility policy.
Requirements
  • Active RI LPN license.
  • Experience in behavioral health and/or skilled care preferred.
  • BLS training.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and tact.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach without restrictions.
  • Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds using good body mechanics.
  • Ability to push heavy equipment, gurneys, and wheelchairs.
Working Conditions

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, with potential exposure to all patients care elements within the facility setting. Risk of needle punctures and some risk of electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards are also present. The role requires mental alertness, stamina, and the ability to work in emergency situations.
